    I Can't refund a game I gifted.


    Hello there,

    I recently gifted a game to my friend and we are in different regions, I tried to refund, but i see no option to do that, some links the ambassadors have given others, don't work.

    me and my friend both live in mexico, but we have our location on our xbox set as the US, it said he was in a different region, when he was not

    Hi There.

    Request for gifted items are only available within 14 days from purchase and only the account gifting the item, can request a refund. See this guide for refunds:


    Make sure to login at the support page with the account that has made the purchase, to see your purchases possible for refunds.

    If that is not the case, i would recommend reaching out to support.xbox.com to get the purchase refunded.

    Why can't you refund gifts?

    No as they are one-time.use

    As per the terms of the gift once redeemed it can't be refunded

    Gifts can only be refund if it hasn't been redeemed

    If any of those conditions are met.you cannot refund it

    The refund policy otherwise only apply for Purchased games not gifted games under 14 days or 2hours of gameplay

    Gift games.conditions are unused or Same region as the gifter that's it

    This is the same with any giftcard

    I accidentally redeemed a code for Modern warfare 3 the vault edition on the wrong account I wanted to see if there was any way or chance I could get a new code or anything back

    Well no gift codes can't be unredeemed you can only refund gifts thats weren't redeemed or not working

    Retail codes that weren't gifted over xbox can't be refunded as ms wasn't the source

    Only the base game can.be shared not vault and you can't just buy vault as it only applies to digital game owners and yes this isnt the only company that does this

    This applies to.upgraded from.square etc

    You can definitely request a refund however, in-game currencies can't be purchased as a gift. You can purchase an Xbox Gift card and send it to them so they can purchase it directly on their account.

    To request a refund, kindly sign in to https://xbox.com/refunds.
