I cant redeem my minecraft Java?? please help!

Earlier today i tried to redeem minecraft java edition for free because I had heard about getting it for free last month in may if you had minecraft bedrock edition/minecraft windows 10. all day I tried to redeem and/or create a profile to play but it seems like its just broken for me, I have followed tutorials and I even got into a call with a friend of mine to try to resolve the issue but absolutely NOTHING is working. please help!!

Thanks alot Ben and im doing well but i meant if i want to get a minecraft java redeem code will i get minecraft bedrock also cuz Im thinking about buying minecraft java redeem code and because minecraft did the java & bedrock edition together that means that i will get minecraft bedrock too
