I bought a game and received a code but when I try to redeem it it says that I can't because it was purchased in another region. I purchased another one from the same spot and it worked just fine. But this one wont

You cant. Your friend will have to request a refund for the code and purchase a code for you that is meant for your region.

Are you sure that the code that you purchased is actually for the region you are in? If you have a code for a different region (say you'd purchased it online), you wouldn't be able to redeem it on your account. For instance, you can't redeem a code for the
UK if you are in the US.
