I can't reach my account settings

I was trying to play Minecraft java edition on my pc but I apparently needed to change my account settings to allow online play. I thought it would be an easy fix, just log in and change it, but then i couldn't find the settings i was looking for. I thought it might be related to the Xbox part of the account, but when i tried to reach that it wouldn't let me into the settings, it just automatically redirects me to the support page whatever I do. Is this something that's supposed to happen, and if it is, how am I supposed to change my settings?

Is your account 18+?

If not:

Try changing it this way.

Go to the top right corner, click on your avatar

click on my microsoft account

Click on "Your Information" on the top tab

go on the date of birth

Change to a date that matches age 18+.

Once this is done, log out your microsoft account from all open browser sites,

wait 20 minutes for the updates to take effect on the server, then click the link below.

Look for the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab

And change the settings "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live", "You can create and join clubs", and "You can join multiplayer games" to Allow.

Once all that is done, wait another 20 minutes to update the changed settings and that's it.

you can't change the age of an account once set until it reaches 18

Once set you must remove the parental account

If it reached 18 then it will promote if not and you changed the original birthrate then it will just ask for another account before you can play again

You can't once set the age of an account can never be changed till it reaches the age of maturity

So if you set it at the latest possible if I remember correctly that was 1999 or 2 something you will have to wait till it reaches 18

If it has reached the age of maturity it will have promote child account to adult account under account management

Changing the email nor the age of an windows live I'd will change this

Hi, I did migrate my account. A guy from the Minecraft support confirmed that.

I asked Minecraft support to tell me which Microsoft account was linked with my Minecraft account but they couldn't tell me that for security reasons.
