Thanks for posting here on the Xbox forums. I don't believe you are able to use a prepaid debit card to make purchases for subscriptions. The card itself needs to have a billing address attached for purchases like this.

You will be able to use your Microsoft account currency. If you have the 2 bucks on there already, try to make the purchase. Make sure you have enough to cover taxes, and let us know the results!

You can use Microsoft Account credits without a credit card to purchase a subscription, as long as the account has enough credits for the initial purchase and the renewal price including any taxes. If you don't have enough to cover the renewal price and
taxes, then it will require a backup payment option to cover the rest and to prevent any billing issues during the renewal transaction. Even if you eventually want to turn off the auto-renew, you'll need to have enough in the account to cover the initial transaction
and the cost of the renewal.
