I can't play online on Xbox live on a backwards compatible game but I have Xbox live gold

I own over a year of Xbox live gold but when I try to play Civilization Revolution on backwards compatibility it tells me I am not permitted to play on Xbox live. I had noticed that my Gold wasn't working right a few months ago when I couldn't get a free
game with gold for free, but I was and still am able to play multiplayer on regular Xbox one games. I have deleted and reinstalled my profile on my Xbox but nothing changed. Please help as I have spent $30 dollars on a game that I can't play with my friends
on.

Xbox backwards compatibility issue

I've had my own account as my home xbox for a while now and I could play all my backwards compatible games on Xbox live with accounts that didn't have gold. No problem there. The problem is that my friend and I recently made eachothers accounts our home
xboxs and now I cant play backwards compatible games on multiplayer with accounts that don't have gold. How is it that all of a sudden I cant play online even though both xbox home accounts have xbox gold and both are gold sharing. It's just on backwards compatible
games btw

 

Backwards compatible games: NO LIVE

Black Ops 2 recently dropped as a backwards compatible game and I went to go play it. Little did I know you have to have live on your own account in order for it to work. I home share with another Xbox One. On that console is another profile which has live.
Because I am home sharing, I get access to live normally through my own account on Xbox One games online. But with Xbox 360 games (backwards compatible) I do not have access to live anymore when trying to play online such as Black Ops 2.

Is there a way to allow this live to go through for me to be able to use backwards compatible games online? Or do I just have to deal with it and possibly purchase live for this account too in order to play backwards compatible games?

Any feedback would be outstanding! Thanks!

I'm sorry to see any issues playing online games! If you head over to the
Subscriptions & services page, you can see if your Xbox Live Gold is indeed active. If it's not and it's supposed to be, you will need to reach out to phone or chat support via our
Contact Us page for help with any billing issues that might be occurring.

However, if there is Gold there, let me know so that we can work on our next steps together.
