I can't play online, even though I have a gold membership

Discus and support I can't play online, even though I have a gold membership in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; So I just bought a gold membership, but every time I try to play online I'm not allowed to. does it have something to do with my account being a child...     I can't play online, even though I have a gold membership


    So I just bought a gold membership, but every time I try to play online I'm not allowed to. does it have something to do with my account being a child account? I tried to log into my other account (which is an adult account) to try to play online, but it
    did not work there either. please help.

    I recently purchased an Xbox 1 and received a 14day Xbox gold trial. I've redeemed the code and it says I have Gold but yet when I go onto fifa or try to play other games online it says I don't have access to this option prompting me back to the area with
    the three different monthly options for purchasing gold! What can I do? It's very frustrating especially when it is telling me I have Gold membership but I clearly don't. Anyone else have a problem like this?

    Trial codes don't change your account status to gold. They only give you access to some benefits of online multiplayer. They will not work with all games or all game modes.

    Have you done a complete shutdown of your console where you plug it out from the power source and wait 5 minutes before switching it back on.
