I can't play a single game on my console

So I ether get "please go to the store and buy the game" every time I insert a game disk or in the 10% of the time that i make it pass that, I get "the game takes too long to load". Seriously does anyone have a fix for this? I can't use the console.

- I have reset blu ray cash

- Reset the console

- Deleted and reinstalled my profile

- My NAT type is moderate. I get 82% wifi strength. The connections are all fine according to the xbox tests.

- Turned on power saving mode

- Downloaded all the latest updates

With Xbox Live down, Xbox does not work

Same here.

Can't sign into my account offline. Network page just hangs. Disconnecting from net doesn't work. Power cycle doesn't work.

Can't play any games, even in in single player. Can't even log into my console profile. I know XBL is down but why can't I sign into my console and play something offline?

WHAT?

New XBoxOne today, can't play on it because it won't do an update.

1. Why does a brand new console need an update?

2. Why should I need to be online to play a single player game?

3. Is Microsoft owned by the Grinch because they have ruined my Christmas!!!!!!!!

If bluray disk, I encountered for the first time ever - I suddenly had to wash it to just get rid of a few fingerprints.

Or it would go into some strange demo mode of some sort, and never get to menu.

So very sensitive to dirt - compared to dvd.

Or go to store where you bought it and get another disk if you don't get through doing that.

On a Sony or Nintendo console, on the PC, if you want to play online then you need the game to be updated to the latest version. This is a simple fact of playing online these days.

As to single player doesn't the One have an option to cancel an update if you don't want to do it at that time? I have my console in instant on mode as well, so I can't be 100% sure of course but I could have sworn that it did. Cancel and play or simply keep
your console offline while playing single player titles.

I constantly get booted out of my game (both Single Player, and Online MP ..but mostly Online). Seems I can't even complete a single game Online, without it booting me to the Xbox Home screen ..

So frustrating! I don't even bother with playing it anymore until I hear of a patch *siiigh*

No you have to sign in for authentication and yes you need xbox live in order to play single player games on every Xbox one and if you cancel your Xbox live membership than you won't be able to play single player games and that's for all titles, but on PlayStation
I don't require an online authentication in order to play any single player game and no I don't even need my router plugged in ordered to play single player games, but if my router goes out then I can't play any Xbox game.
