I can't open "Dirt 5" on Xbox PC app

    Hello,

I downloaded "Dirt 5" to another partition instead system partition "C".

When I clicked to 'Play' button on Xbox PC app after downloaded, it won't be opened.

There is an error log on event viewer.

It seems system is trying to start game_release.exe from "C" partition. But I downloaded it to "F" partition. I moved it from "F" to "C" after downloaded but it didn't work.

Can somebody help me to fix this issue? Btw, my Windows 10 is up-to-date. Graphic card or any other drivers are also up-to-date.

I can't open "Dirt 5" on Xbox PC app

Same issue here, also have Dirt 5 installed on my F drive, instead of the C drive. My crash log also looks very simillar.

I can't open "Dirt 5" on Xbox PC app

I moved "Dirt 5" from "F" to "C". Then I changed "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" permissions to access subfolders and files.

I can access and display all files under "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\CodemastersSoftwareCompan.DiRT5_1.2579.81.0_x64__4cfye3zbe1gaw" now. When I tried to execute "game_release.exe" on there, it giving an error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". And I couldn't change game_release.exe permissions somehow. It not allow me to change :/

Is this a problem I need to fix to run this game on xbox game? To be honest I know that "Xpox PC" is the one of the worst software in the world but however, I would expect it to be able to run the game it downloaded without any issue.

Could you please somebody help me to fix this weird issue? I can provide any information you want.

    Thanks.

I can't open Xbox app on pc

    Hi there Prestige 9.

I am Lumie and I would love to assist you today.

I am so sorry you are having issues with your Xbox app.

When the Xbox app on your PC crashes during startup and reinstalling doesn't resolve the issue, it suggests there might be underlying problems with the app's installation, Windows components, or system configurations. Here are several steps you can follow to diagnose and resolve the issue:

    Check for Windows Updates
Ensure your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates, as these updates often include fixes for compatibility issues.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Click on Check for updates and install any available updates.

Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter
Windows includes a built-in troubleshooter that can help resolve issues with apps from the Microsoft Store.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    Click on Additional troubleshooters.
Scroll down and select Windows Store Apps and then click Run the troubleshooter.

    Reset the Xbox App
Resetting the app can often resolve issues by restoring it to its default state.

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
Find the Xbox app in the list, select it, and click Advanced options.
    Scroll down and click Reset.

    Check System Requirements
Ensure your PC meets the system requirements for running the Xbox app. The Xbox app requires specific hardware and software configurations which might not be present on all systems.

Check your PC’s specifications against the Xbox app's requirements listed on the Microsoft Store.

    Repair the Xbox App Installation
Use the built-in repair option for Microsoft apps.

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
Find the Xbox app, select it, and click Advanced options.
    Scroll down and click Repair.

    Reinstall Xbox Services
Deleting Xbox app services might have caused issues. Reinstall these services to ensure the app functions properly.

Press Win + X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
Run the following command to reinstall Xbox services:

    Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
    Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.GamingServices | Remove-AppxPackage -allusers
    Start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    Clear the Microsoft Store Cache
Clearing the cache can help resolve issues with the store, which may be affecting the Xbox app.

Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
    Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.
The command will run and reset the store cache, and the store will reopen when it's done.

    Update or Reinstall Graphics Drivers
Sometimes, outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can cause apps to crash.

Right-click on Start and select Device Manager.
Expand Display adapters, right-click on your graphics card, and select Update driver.
Follow the prompts to search for updated drivers automatically.

    Check for Corrupted System Files
Use the System File Checker to scan for and repair corrupted system files.

Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
Let the tool run, and it will automatically fix any issues it finds.

Reinstall the Xbox App via PowerShell
Sometimes a more thorough reinstall via PowerShell can help.

Press Win + X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
Run the following command to uninstall the Xbox app:

    Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
    To reinstall, run:
    w
    Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.XboxApp | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_. InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Check Event Viewer for Error Logs
The Event Viewer can provide detailed logs of why the app is crashing.

Press Win + X and select Event Viewer.
Navigate to Windows Logs > Application.
Look for errors related to the Xbox app and note any details that could indicate the cause of the crash.

    Create a New User Account
Sometimes issues can be user profile-specific. Create a new user account to see if the problem persists.

Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
Click Add someone else to this PC and follow the prompts.

    Reinstall Windows Components
Reinstalling key components can sometimes resolve deeper issues.

    Open PowerShell (Admin) and run:

    Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_. InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Disable Third-Party Antivirus Software
Sometimes, third-party antivirus programs can interfere with app operations.

Temporarily disable your antivirus software and try opening the Xbox app again.

Reinstall Windows 10 (as a Last Resort)
If none of the above solutions work, you might need to consider reinstalling Windows 10 to resolve any deep-seated issues.

    Backup your data.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
Under Reset this PC, click Get started.

    I hope this helps.

I shall be here for your response. -Lumie

Dirt 5 i Cant open the game

    Hi,

I take it you can't press the green 'Let's Go' button?

On your keyboard hold down ALT key and tap the TAB key key to switch Windows so that the 'Let's Go' window is selected. With this Window selected, press the tab key (just on it's own) to select the green button and then press enter on the keyboard.

I had the same problem when I tried the game recently.
