I can't migrate my account from Mojang to Microsoft!. What I do?

My son has a Mojang account connected with a mailbox that doesn't exist any more for a long time. A confirmation mail is sent to that mailbox. To migrate his Mojang account to his Microsoft account, this verification seems to be a necessary step.

How can I migrate the account without having access to that ancient mailbox.

There is a possibility to answer verification questions, like "What is your favorite food?" We don't know these answers any more.

Thank you Sam but that is what I am doing... I'm attaching my already existing Microsoft accounts to Minecraft and both of the accounts are telling me that they do not have the game. After I migrated my Mojang account to the Microsoft account using the same email. After I Migrated my Mojang account I followed the instructions to press the "< go back" prompt and I did then sign in using the Microsoft account not the Mojang one which I did and I successfully signed on but I can't do anything because the account is telling me that I don't own the game. I however did Migrate and even got the confirmation email on that email as well.

Something of note is that when I signed in on my Microsoft accounts I am being prompted to change accounts to my Mojang account to play the full game when I've already migrated and cannot access the account because it is supposed to be combined with the account signed in with.

I can't see what you mean in the screenshot as it only shows that you are trying to log with a Mojang account, but you either have already migrated that account and you need to use Microsoft login or you haven't migrated the account and you need to do the migration process

I have a confirmation email that I migrated my Mojang account to Microsoft in May, but I simply can't figure out what Microsoft account I used. As well, if I am using the Microsoft accounts that I believe are correct, then the license for my Minecraft account has just gone missing from my account. Please help.
