    I can't make purchases because it's child restricted and I'm not part of a family?


    I put $20 on my xbox account to buy some loot boxes on Overwatch, but every time I try to buy it, it says "Ask an adult to change your settings - To buy this, an adult needs to change your limit on what you can buy, in family settings at account.microsoft.com/family"
    with SVC-BlockedByPolicy in the corner with YlySereIDECr1eVN.151.3 and the date and time

    However, my account isn't part of any family, and my Dad's account doesn't have
    my account as part of his family. I can't find a way to change the settings, and it's overall really frustrating trying to do anything. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

    Avatar Purchases for Children?

    If the purchase is coming from the restricted account(s) then there should be a prompt asking for the password/pass code for the parent account of the child(ren)'s account. (That's how it is on my console.) After entering the password/pass code, you will
    be allowed to make purchases on the restricted account for a limited time. Assuming this didn't happen for you, there's another way. You'd have to change the child(ren)'s account permissions, allowing them to make purchases. After the purchases, you may change
    the permissions back, restricting the child(ren)'s account once again.

    Xbox Music - Can't purchase on child or teen account???

    On my Surface Pro, I tried to buy a album on Xbox Music. However, it says that I can't because I'm on a child/teen account. However, in my settings it allows me to make purchases. So, how do I make Xbox Music recognize that I can purchase music?

    Gamepass on child's account.

    You can go to Microsoft Family Safety, select your child's content restrictions then uncheck the adult approval on purchases!

    After you purchase the gamepass on his account, make sure to recheck the restriction again!

    It might be a restriction of your Child Account or being part of a Family Plan. Do either of these apply to you?

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have an issue with purchasing game on child account. When you make a child account purchasing is restricted on that account as it is for a child. Have you added the

    account to your family? As you should of got a message for approval to buy game.
