I can't log-in my xbox app. (error code : 0x406)

Before window 10 update (current build 14393.10, 1607 ver), xbox app is good working, i think.

But now, i can't log-in my xbox app. error code is 0x406

Also, I was download Tomb raider in windows store, there is error "0x80070005"

I using administrator account in my system. please help us.

Xbox App (Err. 0x406)

I've bought my laptop last summer, and tried to log on my Xbox account through the Xbox App, so I could play a bit of Minecraft. During the multiples tries to log in, a unique specific error code kept showing up: 0x406. My app is on the version 44.44.7002.00000,
my question is: does someone know a trick or has achieved to log on his account bypassing this error code?

I have had the same issue since the anniversary update, this is preventing me from playing any windows 10 title as well that use Xbox live.

Used to work like a charm beforehand

Very frustrating!

 

If you still have the issue try creating a separate local account and log in under the new account, log out and sign back in to your original and hopefully this unlocks the xbox live sign in process for you

 

I fixed it by making another user on my computer

Press Windows key +R

Then Type " Control UserPasswords2 "

Click ok

and add a user and that's it

Install Xbox Identity Provider Get Xbox Identity Provider - Microsoft Store it is required for Xbox app

This reply seriously needs more attention. This worked for me after everything else I could possibly do didn't work. I used PowerShell to uninstall the Microsoft store and Xbox app, and then reinstalled them. I went into my running services and set all of
the Xbox related ones to active and automatic, followed a ton of YouTube tutorials, and none of them worked. Additionally, it didn't work for many other people. I, out of no faith that it would in any way work, followed your advice thinking I would try anything
to play Age of Empires DE, as I've played almost every AoE in the series since it came out, and after doing exactly what you said, the app was working right after I installed Xbox Identity Provider.

I wish more people knew how easy and effective your solution is; maybe this reply will help them.
