    I cant join my friends xbox minecraft realm from my Windows 10 edition minecraft please help


    So i have very recently revived a lost Xbox account on my PC and have downloaded my Xbox minecraft to my PC and i asked one of my friends if he could invite me to his realm. I have received the invitation and when i click on the accept an error pops up
    saying "You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft Account is set up. Review and change your privacy settings at aka.ms/accountsettings.". I have kept my settings the same because i like the way my privacy is set up and none of the options
    really seem to be aimed at this problem so i am going to need help on how to get rid of this error and be able to join my friends realm. Some minor details i have minecraft java edition i have had an Xbox account since the 360 but no longer have an Xbox only
    a PC im in a family with my brother so we can both get Xbox live easier but he can play on the realm on Xbox but i cant play on it on PC. I really hope someone has a solution for this and i hope someone finds it soon cause i have school starting back up in
    a week.

    Minecraft vs Minecraft XBox One Edition

    The cross play of Minecraft works as such,

    The PC/MAC is separate from the other versions in terms of cross-play. As in the only way to join a game with console or mobile players (or Windows 10) is to play on a realm.

    Console (Xbox and PS), Mobile and Windows 10 will all work without needing realms as long as your friends are online or on the same network as yourself.

    It is only the PC/MAC version of the game that will require you to use realms to join each others game.
    But his friends are on Xbox One edition and my son has the newest minecraft. Apparently they can't play together because they're on different versions?? That's what I'm trying to determine. They're not trying to join realms.

    Hey there! You're going to need to verify which version of Minecraft you have. There are two on the Xbox One that you could have.

    Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is no longer supported. It's playable, but it can't be found in the Store and does not receive updates. This version of the game does not have Realms access.

    Minecraft/Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition/Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (All just different names for the same game) is the version with Realms that are cross-compatible.

    Java version (only available on PC) is not compatible with Xbox.

    If your child's friend has the Realm set up on the correct version of Minecraft, you just need a Gold Subscription. Realm hosts pay the monthly fee to keep the Realm online. The friend will need to invite your friend/add them as a Realm member from their
    Xbox or PC, then your child will receive a little envelope thing on their Minecraft menu. That is the Realm invitation. Once that's accepted, they should be able to join the Realm.

    Hello I am experiencing this problem with Minecraft im trying to join my friends realms but it said you cannot play minecraft realms because of how your account is set up. You can change your privacy and online settings in aka.ms/account settings
    but it never works i cant find privacy settings anywhere it sends me to xbox support everytime. Please help

    It's important to note that if your friends are playing Minecraft on an Xbox console and on a Nintendo Switch, they are playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition. If you're trying to join their Realm while playing Minecraft Java Edition, you won't be able to do so because they are different versions of the game.

    Are you sure you're attempting to join from Minecraft Bedrock Edition (named Minecraft for Windows in the Minecraft Launcher) and not Minecraft Java Edition?
