I can't install games or play them.

Hello, I have Game Pass for pc and a few days ago I installed a new game in a new drive I bought for storing my pc games, also I moved some of the games I already had installed to this new hard drive and I even played some of them without problems. But now , whenever I try to play one of the games in stored in that drive, the app sends me to download gaming services but I have it already installed. And when I try to install a new game either on that new hard drive or on the old one, an error appears (0x80070424) . Oddly enough, I can still play some of the games installed in the new hard drive and all of the games installed in the old one. Also, I can still install games on Steam and EA Play, even on the new hard drive and I have no problem playing them so I suppose the problem comes from the game pass app or something like that, can someone help me solve these two problems?

I see. Have you tried to reinstall these games that are on your hard drive?

Hi, Samy. Thanks for your response. The in-place upgrade solved the installation problem, however, I still can't play some of the games stored on the new hard drive. I wonder if there is something else I could do. Thanks in advance.

Follow these two steps, if one doesn't work, move on to the next.
1. Press Windows Key + i and go to apps, search for ''gaming services'' click ''advanced options'' and then ''terminate, repair and reset. Try installing/play the game again.

2. Launch PowerShell as an administrator and enter

“get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers”

Restart your PC, open PowerShell as admin again, and enter

“start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN”

The Microsoft Store will open and ask to install Gaming Services, install. Then try installing/play the game again.

If the problem persists, an in-place upgrade can solve the problem. On this link, you have the necessary instructions.

I can't install them on my xbox. They are installed on his but I can't play them on my xbox.
