    Hi,

    I have installed the Dev Mode Activation app on my Xbox and I cannot download any app from the Windows store when in Dev mode. Whenever I open Windows store and click on a listed app like Youtube or Netflix or anything, it says:

    "The thing you're looking for isn't here. We probably don't have it, but just in case, try searching for it."

    Similarly, launching Edge browser says: "We couldn't get your latest saved data. Try again or use this game or app offline."

    I have full connection to the Internet and there is no problems with that. What else could it be?

    Any suggestions/help will be appreciated. Thanks.

    Why was MS Solitaire Collection delisted from the Store?

    I can't install Microsoft Solitaire Collection from russian Store (Windows 8.1).

    I can see it in Account/My apps.

    Got the message "This product is no longer available.
    Unfortunately the program is deleted
    and is no longer available in the Windows store".

    Where can I ask about it?

    Error Code: 0x80240017

    All non XBox apps from the Windows store function properly, install, update, run, etc. I have:

    Restarted,

    Refreshed Windows Store

    uninstalled the XBox app and attempted to Re-install - same error

    Checked Windows updates, validated my graphics card's drivers are up to date

    Ran the App Troubleshooter from Microsoft

    Short of it; Microsoft you have to get your act together on this one! I have dealt with these issues across many machines for months (I'm a Systems Administrator), each time there appears to be a different fix, and have tried many on this machine. Don't
    offer this crap if you can't make it easy to keep it running.

    On the
    official instructions to set up Dev Mode on the Xbox One     it states the following:

    "NOTE:

    Your retail games and apps won’t run in Developer Mode, but the apps or games you create will. Switch back to Retail Mode to run your favorite games and apps."

    So not being able to run your installed apps and games you got from the Store is perfectly normal. In Dev Mode you can ONLY run the programs you sideloaded. To be able to run retail games and regular Apps from Marketplace, you will have to switch back to
    retail mode and exit Dev Mode.

    As I stated it's a problem with my side loaded apps nothing to do with retail mode.

    Any sideloaded app I download or created works on the current power session. But if I reboot the console I have to delete them and reinstall. For them to work again. I understand that store content won't work in dev mode And vice versa.

    I'm afraid your efforts will be futile. It's not possible.

    Only thing I can think of on the Xbox platform that can run unsigned code is the Xbox One/Series X|S Developer Mode. Developer Mode can allow the running of unsigned code in a secure environment. This has not been removed from the Xbox platform. There used to be a file manager/viewer application that was removed from the store, but it could not run executable Windows programs.

    As for Developer mode, the apps that can run there have to be specially made for that mode. You can't run just any old application found on the web or otherwise in Dev Mode. It just doesn't work like that.

    Even if a Windows program could be 'sneaked into the store' as it were, it wouldn't run. Firstly because Xbox can't run unsigned code and secondly because Windows application installs will want to see files, folders and libraries that exist on a Windows PC, but these don't exist on an Xbox.

    Dev Mode Activation App

    Dev Mode allows you to "sideload" apps that are not yet digitally signed for being distributed via the store.

    As such you will need a PC to actually make use of the Dev Mode.

    You can't create Apps on the Xbox One itself, you will need a PC and Visual Studio to create your own App or game for the Xbox One.

    Hi, thanks for your reply. I’m trying to install an Xbox Live profile. For xbox 360. Gears. On series S. Reinstalling. I read to clear cache. Then sign in. I think retroarch is in the windows store. On dev mode. So, it’s safe? I won’t erase Dev Mode? Thanks again!
