    As title, I can't install any games that have "Administrator approval required for installation" on the download page.

    This is something that has changed recently as I did have a number of games installed (eg Halo MCC, Descenders, Dead Cells), however they have now stopped working and although they showed as installed and had the Play button active they no longer launched. I removed then reinstalled them but received the failure code 0x8007001f.

    My PC is running Windows 10 Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1052). It is up to date and Windows Update installed successfully.

    I have three hard drives which are all internally connected. The OS drive, C: is a SATA SSD. There is also as an additional M2 SSD and a SATA HD. I encounter this issue when attempting to install any game that requires Administrator approval to any drive. It downloads then fails to install with the previously noted code 0x8007001f.

    I am a full Administrator of my PC. It is the only account I have configured on my PC. I have tried running 'sfc /scannow' but this did not find any issues or make any difference.

    Please note that I can successfully install games that do not require Administrator approval, eg the Forza games and Killer Instinct still work.

    I am using Steam, Battle.net, Epic Games without any issues. My only problem is with the XBox app and getting games that require Administrator approval to actually install.

    You need to have an administrator level account for any software installation that it detects as making certain changes. If you are dong this via the app right click it and choose run as administrator. If downloading the game from the MS store directly
    you most likely need to have an admin level account and a window will pop up saying do you want to allow this program to make changes; answer yes.

    Then I am an administator, tried running theXbox app as administator as well, still same error. When i try to download the game from the MS store I get try again later message.

    Here's how to quickly find out if the account you're using is an Administrator or not:

    • Click on the Start button, the Start Menu will pop up.
    • Right-click the name (or icon, depending on the version Windows 10) of the current account, located at the top left part of the Start Menu, then click on Change account settings.
    • The Settings window will pop up and under the name of the account if you see the word "Administrator" then it is an Administrator account.

    How do I even edit the post? I'm pretty sure I am an administator. I tried some fixes I found for error 0x80070005 but nothing worked.
