I can't hear voice though my headphone!

Discus and support I can't hear voice though my headphone! in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I've tried everything I got myself a new headset and controller, I checked and double checked my voice settings in the preferences , and I don't know...     I can't hear voice though my headphone!


    I've tried everything I got myself a new headset and controller, I checked and double checked my voice settings in the preferences , and I don't know what else to try. Is it common for the console to cause a problem like this? I've even unplugged the console
    and blew he dust outt! Any help would be appreciated because I really dont want to buy a new xbox lol

    Chat through a HI-FI headphone??

    Need your help on the following audio question:

    I game with a pair of high end stereo hi-fi headphones connected to a DAC which is subsequently connected to the optical port of the Xbox One. (Video by HDMI cable from the Xbox One to the HDTV)
    Great game audio quality but to chat I use the kinect mic. (my friends hear me and I hear them through my headphones even though the voice quality is not the best).
    If I buy a separate mic to attach to my headphones and connect its 3.5mm jack to the adaptor will I hear the chat audio through my headphones??

    you should add some more info in order to receive help with your issue. Do you hear sound from your console without the headset? What kind of headset are you using?

    I'm using just a original xbox headset and the voice comes through my tv speakers but not my headphone. I even had a buddy let me borrow his xbox and I put my hard drive in it and it still only puts voice through the tv not the headset. The mic works so
    I can talk but I can only hear on my tv speakers. It just started randomly when I was playing gta 5 started to crackle in and out then absolutely nothing but like I said it can't be the headset or controller as I already got new ones. I hope this can help

    What you are describing suggests an issue with your voice settings in the preferences. Press the Guide button on the controller and scroll to the right. Choose Preferences and under Voice ensure that it's set to either Play Through Both or Play Through
    Headset.

    Yea I tried that an it's set on both if I put it on headphones only I get no voice whatsoever. I also checked my privacy settings and it set to adult so it should be good. I gave my controller and headset to my buddy and it works fine on his xbox. Any more
    suggestions is much appreciated it seems like it might be a setting somewhere I'm missing or could it be my hard drive cause that seems like the only thing I haven't changed thanks again guys
