I can't hear game audio threw a new controller and headset

Have you attempted to use it with another device to ensure it is a device connection issue?

If you have a laptop you can use this step to identify an issue:

1. Open Control Panel and select Sound
2. The Sound dialog will appear and select the Playback tab.
3. Verify if your headphones are listed.
4. Right-click on the headphones and select Test. This will ensure they are working via output sound.

Let me know if they are working with other programs and I will assist further.

For me an apple pair of headset did not work: what I did was removing a few options.

I will try to explain you but it may be faster for you if you search on the internet: apple headset on xbox. It may be a similar issue?

When the headsets are plugged in: press the xbox button your controller and go to settings. There should be a few new options for the headset: three bars where you can adjust the value and an option to switch. Switch that option off (do not know the name
because i did with an xbox in italian not in english) and turn the last bar value to the extreme left (the name of this was something like ‘mic compression’ or something similar lol)

I did this and it didn't fix my problem. I can't hear game audio through my controller. I've tried using different controllers, same result. Using different mics on those controllers, still same result. I've also used the headsets on different devices
like my phone and PC and they work fine. To add to it I can hear chat audio, I just can't hear game audio through the headset. I'm thinking it's a controller issue or Xbox issue. I've changed the audio output to something else doesn't fix it.

question please...when in party chat, I can hear others, but they can't hear me. So far I've tried 2 different xbox ones, three controllers (one new) and three headsets (one new). My friend has tried two controllers and two headsets (one new).
NAT is open on both xboxes, microphone switched on in settings, mic not muted on the headset, volume turned up in settings. I've done a self / solo party test, which worked OK, circle around gamertag responds to voice. Help is appreciated as I'm stuck!

I am having similar issues with a new headset. We can pair and hear the game audio through the headset, but it is not signalling into, nor receiving any chat audio....
