I can't hear anyone, in game, in a party, in discord call or anything but they can hear me...

I have all of these in order to where it would normally allow me to do such things with no problems. However the problem still persists, Is there any other recommendations you may have?

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues using the party chat feature of Xbox when playing with your friend. Please make sure that you and your friend's Xbox settings are configured properly. These communication settings can be adjusted to limit who you want to chat with.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system.

2. Select Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customise.

3. Select Communication & multiplayer, and then review the settings for the following to make sure that they are set to Friends or Everyone:

Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

You can communicate outside of Xbox with voice & text

You can use video for communications

Note: If you're connected to a Discord voice channel on your Xbox console, your party chat status will say “Discord” and the name of the voice channel that you're in. If you want to join or start an Xbox party chat, disconnect from the Discord voice channel so that you can switch over to game or party chat. I found this information that may help you with your audio problem:

Type Sound in your Windows search bar.

Select the Change sound system option.

Select the Playback tab at the top.

Right click on your output device (headphones or speaker).

Select Set Default Device, then repeat the process and click Set as Default Device.

Click Apply and then OK.

In case you don't see your device in the list, you should do the following:

Go back to the Playback tab.

Right click on any blank space within the window.

Select Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices.

Solution 2. Correctly configure the output device through Discord.

Open the Discord app.

Click on the Settings icon.

Go to Voice & Video on the left.

Under Voice Settings, click the drop-down menu and select Default.

Now check the output volume – make sure it is not set to 0.

Solution 3. Turn on Legacy Audio Subsystem

Open the Discord app and go to Voice and Video Settings again.

On the right, swipe until you see the Legacy Audio Subsystem section.

If the setting is set to Standard, replace it with Legacy.

Solution 4. Try the web version of Discord

If you still can't hear anything on Discord, you should try the web version of the app – simply go to the official Discord website and log in to your account by entering your credentials.

Found out it was the headphone adapter that connected the sound and microphone together, thanks for the recommendation!
