I can't get the game I downloaded to work

I can't get the game I downloaded to work (battlefield 4, the crew,) I can play for like a minute in the crew before it freezes and restarts the Xbox and battle field 4 freezes when I enter any type of match. Also I don't think it reads discs right, but
granted the games were rented but they saided they tested the games and they worked fine I just got my Xbox less then a month ago from game stop refurbished and I'm hopeing I didn't get a piece of junk because I can't find my receipt. The disc games acted
like all of their textures are messed up. I could really use some help guys because if I can't this fix I don't think I'm going to want to buy another Xbox or because I just can't afford to I got other things I could spent that kind of money on.

I think I may have figured it out.

My 250gb hdd isn't official so it doesn't have the emulator for x box original games.

I just bought Jade Empire and can not get it to work.

I have and xbox 360 s with a 4 gb and a 250gb hdd.

I have redownloaded the game, as well as deleted and redownloaded the game, I have also cleared the cache and re-installed the system update without any luck.

The error I get isn't a code error it just says game error and that I should try to re-download it.

Is there something I missed?

 

Xbox One games do not read from the disc when you play them. All games are installed first to the hard drive. Generally, if the game installs fully to the hard drive there shouldn't be an issue with either the game disc or the console's hard drive.

Games crashing, re-starting and locking up can be caused by a number of things, but in the case of the Xbox One, it won't be down to reading the game disc. After install, the disc is only there to signify you own the disc version of the game. The game itself
runs entirely from the hard drive.

Graphics issues,crashes and re-starts can be from a couple of things. It's either a hardware error, or there is something wrong with the power going into the machine. So that you can rule out the latter, make sure your console is connected only to the mains
supply on the wall. There should be no surge protectors present. Surge protectors can cause problems with the Xbox One as the console already has its own surge protection.

Plug your console directly into the mains, or move it to another location to do so and let us know how you get on.

 

That eliminates the power being the problem because it still froze and restarted the Xbox

 

I forgot to mention the fact that it will play minecraft just fine

If you think it may be a drive issue (which as Obsessive Power stated it's likely not), I would recommend getting a free game like this months Games with Gold The Crew. If the restarts / graphical issues happen with that, then your drive is okay. Try doing
a hard reset by holding the power button down for about 8 seconds until the console turns off. After that, power the console back on and see if the games play correctly.

If you're having issues after that, I would honestly take your refurb Xbox back to GameStop and request an exchange. Usually they document serial numbers, and take your phone number when you buy the system. Additionally if you paid via credit card they likely
can look up the transaction.

Yeah I tryed everything else so I'm going to take it back to game stop thanks I didn't know they could do that with credit cards
