I can't get my child's account to be allowed to play online games

I have tried everything I can think of; his restrictions were set to 5 years and under, I changed that to unrestricted. I had a customised layout of access options but allowed all the Xbox one's, and no change; I turned his profile to an adult one and -still- can't access multiplayer. Tried several games (Terraria, trailmakers, and Trove)

I don't know what else to do. Is there a way to even wipe him clean and start fresh but keep his account/username?

So in Terraria it says they need to change their access restrictions to be allowed (when the click on multiplayer instead of single player) trailmakers the multiplayer and any online features (Master builders, gallery) is simply greyed out and they get a message again saying to change settings. Trove won't even allow him past the first home screen says he needs to be allowed to see custom content (which is allowed)

What error message do they get when they try to play? Do they have a Gold or Game Pass Ultimate subscription or sharing one from someone?

I can't seem to let my child play online. I went to settings, but my child account isn't there. My child really wants to play online. Do you need Xbox Live Gold to play online? Can someone please help me?

Microsoft should have been more clear on the ristrictions of creating a Child account, and especially on the things you cannot change later on. E.g. My son can't use the FIFA app on his iPad, because he has a Xbox child account... Confirmed by EA customer
support that this is due to his child account and that cannot be changed. Same with Mixer; he can't Stream due to his child account. No setting anywhere to allow this. It really sucks balls that I can't control what I want to allow my kid to do online! I can
allow him to play a 18+ game offline, but he can't cross-play freaking Fortnite...

I am going to contact MS support and sum up all the issues we are having with his child account. I feel cheated. They should upgrade him to an adult account, or transfer all his achievements to a new adult account.

Actually, EA has a restriction to not allow child accounts to play their games online and Star Wars Battlefront is an all online game. Regardless of the parental restrictions on the child account, EA has enabled that restriction. Sorry. Your child will
have to sign into an adult account or wait until he turns the legal age in your region to play that game.
