I can't even try to use it! There is error after error

Hello everyone, this Christmas morning has been really annoying for me. Got a new xbox series x, however setting it up has just not been easy because I haven't actually gotten to. To start: when I first got it on and connected to the internet, all the things I'm supposed to do, I encounter my first issue. When I try to sign in, it says something along the lines of "we can't sign you in right now" and I go check xbox live status, EVERYTHING is up. I try again to sign in, but this time, it tells me I need to be connected to the internet for this to work, even though I ALREADY WAS. Next: So I go to my network settings just to try and figure out what the hell could possibly be wrong, and I see "UPnP not successful" so I figure out how to solve it. At first it wasn't fixing the "UPnP not successful" message, and then came my first console reset. Side note: theres more than one console reset today, and for each of them i disconnected from the internet, which i know im supposed to connect if I'm trying to truly erase the content from the console, but given the issues it was giving me with internet before, I didn't want to try. So after the first console reset: I go through the whole process again of console setup, although this time I pay attention to when the update section comes around. It starts by saying "Its time to update" moving on to "Checking for updates..." to an error screen "there was a problem with the update" and I press try again, then it says "oh this is awkward you don't need an update" and it allows me to advance on through until I'm back at my previous problem of the console not allowing me to sign in. This time the UPnP issue is solved though, so I know that wasn't part of it. On to the second console reset. The events are as follows: pretty much exactly the same as the previous paragraph, EXCEPT, this time whenever I attempted to sign in, the console didn't even bother to tell me that "you need internet for this," the gray rectangle with the spinning circle just disappeared from my screen. I couldn't even type in the email. So, console reset number three. Now: I get to the part where it says "its time to update", and it goes through its whole cycle of events. HOWEVER, this time it doesn't ever get around to saying "oh this is awkward" and rather has repeatedly given me the "there was a problem with the update" error message. This is a bit of a conundrum as I'm not even able to access the settings to my console at this point, can't reset it, can't try to OSU, I'm just sitting here after 5 and a half hours of messing with it. I'm in tears. I just want to play some games.
