I can’t download gta 5 on my new xbox series x

Kindly try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Clear your local saved games and try reinstalling the game:

Eject the disc from your console.

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage devices.

Select Clear local saved games.

NOTE: Selecting this option will not delete any games or progress you have saved in the Xbox cloud. It will only clear data you have saved locally.

Select Yes to confirm.

Once your console restarts, try installing the game again. If this solution doesn’t work, try the next solution.

2. Take your console offline and install the game:

Take your console offline, cancel the download, and then power cycle the console. After you successfully install the game, go online and let the update download.

Step 1: Use your console offline:

Follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.

Select Go offline.

Step 2: Cancel the download:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select My games & apps > See all.

Select Manage > Queue.

Highlight the game you’re trying to install and press the Menu button  on the controller.

Select Cancel.

Step 3: Eject the game disc and power cycle the console:

Eject the game disc.

Press and hold the Xbox button  to open the Power Center.

Select Restart console.

Select Restart.

NOTE: If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button  on the console for about 10 seconds until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button  on the console again to restart.

Step 4: Install the game:

After the console restarts, insert the disc. Follow the steps to install the game.

NOTE: Make sure you do this before you reconnect to the internet.

Step 5: Go online and let the game update install:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.

Select Go online.

Ok I have both versions of GTA downloaded on my series x the Xbox one version works fine on the series x I then downloaded the series s/x version on the series x I then launched the game and it gives the error message

So if I'm playing on an xbox series x and my friends on a xbox series s I can not play gta 5 online with them

I say this because there are currently three versions of the Series X/S game. Gta 5 Online, Gta 5 Series X/S and Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S).

If he has purchased Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S), which gives access to the game for Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X, he can play online with you as long as he downloads the Xbox One version, so you and he will have the same save and can play online.
