I can't download 360 Xbox Live Gold free games on my Xbox One

I tried downloading Dead Space on my Xbox One, it being the free game of the month. I select it a click the show price button and it says it's free, but when i click continue it says " Sorry this is not available for your type of account." I have Xbox Live,
but do I need a 360? Does the fact that I have CenturyLink have anything to do with it?

problem with the games with gold

I have a problem with the games with gold. I can download the Xbox One games on my Xbox One but whenever I try to download the free Xbox 360 games, it says buy for free and when i press it, it goes to a blue screen. Same with the Internet Explorer, it just
says go to the Xbox store and download it, which I obviously can't do.. I do not have a Xbox 360 in order to download the free Xbox 360 games with games with gold, so it can automatically pop up in my Install on the Xbox One. So my question is, "How do I download
the free Xbox 360 games without an Xbox 360?"

i want to subscribe to the xbox one free with gold thing that alows you to download xbox360 games on your xbox one console but when i try to click on my xbox a page opens and it's asking me to subscribe to xbox live gold. the problem is that i am already
xbox live gold member and i just looked at my subscription and still have a bit more than 2 months left

How come i can't see the xbox 360 free games on my xbox one ( dungeon siege 3 and dirt 3 ) that are supposed to be free for gold members in November

 

do you have a valid payment method stored onto your console ?

some people are having issues as they dont have that stored in and that can affect the download as its using the old system for the 360 with the backwards compat.

if not just purchase it on a 360 and then download it on the one in games and apps.

 

Well are om a adult account or child account. try buying it on xbox.com or otherwise you might need a valid credit card or avisa gift card on file will work.

 

You need a valid payment method on your account. Even though it wont be charged.

I believe it is just used for verification purposes.

 

Plus it's the way the Web interface works

Because it's a 0.00 dollar transaction there must be a debit even if free it takes 0.00 off your payment method

 

I checked my account settings and there are no content restrictions, I added a debt card, but I get past continue, but it tells me, Sorry this type of purchase cannot be made with your type of account on Xbox.com. Please finish transaction from your Xbox,
while I am on my Xbox. I'll check my settings again to see if I am missing anything but...

 

It doesn't matter if you have no restriction that's the issue

There is no unrestricted child account setting on 360

The only way to download the content is to borrow or buy or rent a 360 or use a parental gold account to download it

 

Does changing my age on my Microsoft Account work?

 

Nope and changing your age only cause further problems with bungie and ea and ubisoft as they do check your age of your gamertag which is set in stone

Fyi the age of an ms account or email has no bearing on the age of an gamertag

Once set it's set in stone till you turn 18 then you can promote it to adult account no later no sooner
