I can't connect to Xbox Live with a wired connection.

I'm having an issue connecting to Xbox Live with a wired connection. I can do it fine in another house and even in the house i'm in now, I can connect with the same ethernet cable in the same house on my PC but not my Xbox One. I can connect wirelessly,
but the lag at times is almost unplayable especially at daytime. I've tried using the live chat, but when I click start chat, nothing happens and the start chat button gets greyed out. So, my only option seems to be on the support forums. Can a support team
member or even someone who knows how to fix this issue please help me?

Wired connection problem

When you test your connection does the xbox recognize that it has a wired connection but can't connect to live?

Starting up my Xbox 360 S and signing in the console says "Your console can't connect to Xbox Live" So I exit this session and test my network connection. It is a wired connection. So I test Xbox Live Connection. The console says that it can't obtain an
ipaddress. It can't connect to network. Can you help me to get this console on Xbox Live?

Have you tried using a different port on your router? If not, try that and then try doing a power cycle of the console and the router. If all else fails try another ethernet cable if you have a spare just to make sure.

 

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
Once it is back up and operational test the results.

If that doesn't work let us know if you are getting any error messages and if you are what they are saying.
