I can't connect to public servers on Minecraft xbox

I have been trying to connect to public Minecraft servers for the past couple of days but every time I try to get on to a custom server I'm apart of I can't I can't even access the hive, lifeboat or any default server for Minecraft Xbox all I get a error screen that says "Unable to connect to world." I can't connect to public servers on Minecraft xbox

    Hi there Shroud_3.

I am Lumie and I would love to assist you today.

I am so sorry you are having issues with multiplayer Minecraft.

When facing issues connecting to public Minecraft servers on Xbox, several potential factors could be causing the "Unable to connect to world" error. Here are detailed steps and considerations to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    Network Configuration and Stability
Ensure your Xbox is connected to the internet. Test the network connection through the Xbox settings to confirm stability and speed.
Power cycle your modem and router by unplugging them for about 30 seconds, then plugging them back in.
If possible, connect your Xbox directly to the router using an Ethernet cable for a more stable connection.
Make sure your NAT type is set to open. You can check and change this in your Xbox network settings under “Advanced settings” and “NAT type.”

    DNS Settings
Alternatively, you can try Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) if you haven’t already, as it’s generally reliable for most users.

    Minecraft and Xbox Settings
Ensure Minecraft is updated to the latest version. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that could resolve connection issues.
Verify that your Xbox Live subscription is active, as it’s required for online multiplayer gaming.
Check your Xbox Live account settings to make sure that multiplayer and communication settings are not restricting access to servers. Navigate to Xbox settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy.

    Firewall and Ports
Xbox Live Ports: Ensure the necessary ports for Xbox Live are open on your router. The required ports are:
    Port 88 (UDP)
    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    Port 80 (TCP)
    Port 500 (UDP)
    Port 3544 (UDP)
    Port 4500 (UDP)

    Server-Specific Issues
Check the status of the specific servers you are trying to join. Popular servers like Hive or Lifeboat may occasionally experience downtime or maintenance.
If trying to join a custom server, ensure that your gamertag is whitelisted or has the necessary permissions to join.

    Xbox System Cache and Profile
Clearing the system cache on your Xbox can help resolve temporary issues.
Go to Settings > System > Storage > Select your storage device > Clear system cache.
Remove and re-add your profile to clear any potential profile corruption.
Go to Settings > Account > Remove accounts > Select your account > Remove. Then, re-add your profile.

    Minecraft Server Configuration
Ensure the server configurations are correctly set, including the correct version compatibility for Minecraft and any specific settings that may block certain connections.

    Reinstallation
If none of the above solutions work, consider reinstalling Minecraft. This can resolve any issues related to corrupted game files.

    I hope this helps.

I shall be here for your response. -Lumie

    Connection problems

If you play p2p games and your router has something like DDOS Protection it sometimes thinks your xbox get DDOSED because of the p2p connection.

Try to disable your routers DDOS connection an be sure you run the latest Firmware for your router.

If you can't connect to servers I would try to use a different DNS Server.

In network settings of your xbox you can use google DNS Servers:

    8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

    developers.google.com/.../public-dns

Are the Minecraft Xbox 360 Mini Game servers still functional?

Update: Microsoft's Minecraft support team didn't help much. To test this out, my and my friend set up a public mini game server, with my friend making a public Battle server. I joined from the "Join" tab, and it came up with the annoying "The connection to the server was lost. Exiting to main menu" error. My friend then disabled the option "Public Game." Then, if you join from the "Friends" tab it works just fine,

Forza Horizon 4 Multiplayer doesn't work

I am receiving the same issue, and out of the many of the currently active games I play, FH4 is the only one I can't connect to. I'm starting to wonder if they pulled the servers with the launch of FH5? Are there any public statements that would indicate that the servers are still up?

Minecraft: I can't connect to the server of my friend

There are a few things that can be wrong here. First, if other people are joining, then NAT is fine on his end since NAT is Private IP to Public IP translation (actually it can do more than that but that is another discussion). Second, validate the port
you are connecting on when using his public IP Address. That could be the problem as connecting to the wrong port will result in a failed connection. Next, are others that are joining outside of his local area network? If they aren't, they are on a LAN
and he may not have his IP properly port forwarded so that you can connect. I can help with port forwarding in general if this is a problem assuming he has access to his router, I'm a network engineer by trade.

Other than that, it is definitely something on the server side. If the Minecraft server hosted on his local computer or does he have another dedicated box running the Minecraft server? A firewall may be misunderstanding your specific connection and rejecting
it on the attempt. Only way to know is for him to check the logs of the Minecraft server. It should show you attempting to connect if everything is gravy.
