UPDATE: I have an older, original Xbox One so I pulled that out and connected it to the internet and ran the Multiplayer test and got the same results as I'm getting on my main Xbox One S. So this leads me to believe it's not something with my Xbox,
but something with the modem/router. I just set up port forwarding for all of the Xbox ones listed on their KB, still nothing is working.

Hi there! So I'm going to begin by giving some context and background info to provide as much as I can in this post.

I recently moved a few months ago (which I believe is probably a reason for my recent problems), a few miles down the road in the same city. I have been using the same cable modem plus router device since 2017 when I bought it. The first two years of use
were perfectly fine. I had no issues in terms of playing online games (beyond the occasional slow loading times, etc. that were due to the traffic on my internet.) I have always been able to play any games that require connecting to an online server (e.g.,
Assassin's Creed, Destiny, Call of Duty, etc.). The modem/router I use is a Motorola MG7550 (16x4 686 Mbps, DOCSIS 3.0, AC1900 Dual Band WiFi with Power Boost). I have had the same account with my ISP, Comcast Xfinity, for the same amount of time I've had
this device and it has been the only account that has used this device for internet.

I moved in from a duplex townhouse neighborhood to an apartment community building (if that information is useful) in August. I haven't attempted to play online games on my Xbox One S until this month when I revisited Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and noticed
I wasn't able to connect to the Ubisoft servers to play the "Kenway's Fleet" or multiplayer options. I tried another Assassin's Creed game, wondering if it was just the old 2013-ness of Black Flag, but I wasn't able to connect to the servers there either.
I've tried other online games, too: Call of Duty, Halo, Destiny, GTA V and all of them say they cannot connect to the online servers.

There are a number of troubleshooting strategies I have attempted. I switched from a wired to wireless connection, both have a strong connection (also tried 2.4 vs. 5G connection, both fine). I noticed that my NAT Type was either Moderate or Strict and that
"UPnP was not available". I followed Xbox's knowledge base articles and found how to enable UPnP on my modem/router, as well as opened up my firewall as recommended. I ran all of the restart cycles after each step (console, modem). It fixed that error from
showing up and made my NAT Type Open. I then ran a "soft" factory reset, keeping all my apps & games installed, with no luck.

I do not believe it is my internet connection since I also game via my Razer gaming laptop and my speeds there are fine and I'm able to access online games without issue. (I only ever use wireless connections for that, usually via 2.4Ghz).

When I run a test on my multiplayer connection I get the following error:

"Can't finish multiplayer tests.... (0x00000(bunch of zeros))"

When I run a test on network speed and stats I get the following info:

    Download speed: 118.45Mbps

    Latency: 27ms

    Upload speed: not available

    Wireless strength: 100%

    Packet loss 0%

    MTU: Not available

"There was a problem with some of the tests. Try again later."

Basically I'm at a loss and incredibly frustrated by the lack of support I have been able to find online. Something I've seen suggested is port forwarding, but that is something I have 0 knowledge about and would prefer to have a real person confirm that
this would be a good idea to attempt, rather than just going on my best guesses based on a KB article online.

Let me know what other information I can provide that could help you troubleshoot this, as I would be more than happy to do so!!!

    Thanks so much!

    :)

Hi again, Steven! So it appears that it isn't something with my Xbox, but modem/router. (See update to my original post). Is it possible I would need to set up port forwarding?

Try this.. Turn off all connected devices and

Power cycle your console and network hardware

To perform a power cycle reset, follow these steps:

    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for five minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.
    2. Restart your Xbox One console:
      1. Press and hold the Xbox button
in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center.
      2. Select Restart console.
      3. Select Restart.
Note If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the
        Xbox
button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the
Xbox button on the console again to restart.
    3. After five minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

If possible go back to using a wired ethernet cable to your network hardware.

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults

There is an option to keep games and apps.

As for the port forwarding its not to hard there are plenty of good sites that can help portforward.com is a populer one that has most router models.

Im having the same issue, I going to guess you rent your modem from xfinity or your ISP? It's the modem causing the issue, I am currently waiting for a third party modem in the mail. Then I can get off Xfinity since they rent my modem out at my expense
anyway. My clash of clans fails until I cycle the power on my Xfinity modem , my cell phone wireless does the same as does my Roku.

Xfinity is garbage , at least in my case, the dictate your modem , they allow others to connect to your modem, I paid 119.00 for my modem and its 15 a month to rent xfinity. Ill make my money back soon

    Hey there CosiestRocket88

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to hopefully regain access to your console's online functionality. I can definitely see how this could be perplexing for anyone to come across.

If the troubleshooting steps detailed previously and in your prompt have yet to resolve the issue, then I suggest going to
Settings> Devices and Streaming> Blu-ray> persistent storage and clearing that three times. Once that has been done, go to Settings> General> Network Settings> Advanced Settings> Alternate MAC address, clearing that and letting
    your console restart.

When you get the chance, give that a shot and let us know if that helped.

    Thanks!
