I can't color text in Minecraft on my PS4

Earlier this week, I was trying to color some text in a command block for my friend's server. I tried, and it
deleted everything in the command block, I tried again and I noticed that when I typed the § symbol, it didn't appear, and all of the text afterward didn't appear. I tried in a sign and
in an anvil and nothing worked. Is there a new symbol? I know it's not the bedrock update because it worked for a while after the update and maybe it was the update right after the bedrock one. A new update came out today and it still doesn't work. I'm
hoping someone knows how to solve this because everyone I know is having the same issue.

This is the only correct catagory I could think of, please correct me if this is the wrong place.

I hope that an update / patch will be released so that the "always white text" will be replaced by a different colored text so that they don't clash with the background, making them (the "always white text") appropriately contrasted to the the lighter colored
