I can't change my game tag

I would suggest creating a new GamerTag that you actually want this time, instead of the 2 you previously picked. This will lead to less money escaping from your wallet in the future.

I would suggest setting up a call back from an Xbox Live support agent by following the steps below. The agent would be able to look into your account and tell you what your Gamertag change situation is.

Step 1 ----Select Xbox One

Step 2 ----Select See other options

Step 3 ----Select topic (Ex. System Update)

Step 4 ----Select "Show contact options"

Yes unfortunately as said above you can only have one free change of your gamer tag . After that you have to pay. 👍

Hi, there is a cost involved when changing your gamertag.

Note If you're changing the gamertag we created for you at sign up (meaning you didn’t choose it yourself), you won’t be charged.
For all other gamertag changes, you’ll be charged (fee varies by region and currency).

The first change is indeed free as long as you kept the gamertag that was provided by Microsoft then you have to cough up some money for further changes.
