Hello Angle, you can buy V-Bucks from the Xbox store and pay with your account balance.

The big question is, do you play on PC or console?

If you play on the console after purchase, just use the same account you use to play Fortnite to buy the V-Bucks and then when you open the game on the console the V-Bucks will appear.

But if you play on the PC you will have to purchase V-Bucks directly from Epic Games, through the Website or the Epic Launcher.

The v bucks are separate per console. It's in the FAQ on the epic website.

Q. Are my Vbucks bound to the platform I purchase them on?

A. Yes. V-bucks that are purchased can only be used on that specific platform.There is no ability to move V-bucks between a console and PC. That said, if you have linked your PSN account with your Epic ID, any content you buy with V-bucks on PS4 will be
also available on your Fortnite account on PC. You can link your PSN account to your Epic account here. Currently, this is not supported on Xbox One.

You can't get free V-Bucks unless you bought the "Save the World" mode for Fortnite.

DO NOT fall for scammers and account thieves!!! You can NOT get V-Bucks for free through code generator websites or people asking for your account!!!

If someone offers you V-Bucks if you let them into your account, do NOT do this! They will steal your account!!!

If a website offers free V-Bucks, they only want your account login to steal your account! Do NOT sign in to websites offering free V-Bucks!!!

Every time you are asked for account credentials like your email and/or password to get "free V-Bucks", it is a scam, and you will lose your account!

There are some odd things happen with Fortnite and V bucks purchase, especially on the iPhone. you can probably look up Fortnite and Apple, and you will see what I am talking.

Now, I do play Fortnite, and I play on both PC and Xbox and even android (note: Fortnite is not available on iPhone anymore). For V-bucks, I usually just buy it on the PC version of the game.

I think, you can even buy v-bucks directly from the website which might be easier for your scenario. Once the V-bucks are added from the PC or browser, it will automatically become available on Xbox.

Now, based on your messages, it feels like you are trying to make the payment directly from the Xbox. If it's not working, the best option is to just do the transaction, just outside the Xbox, which is what I am suggesting above.
