I can’t buy a backwards compatible game from my Xbox

Hello Gamer! Backwards compatibility means the version before the current which for example if an Xbox 1 game is backwards compatible it can be played with Xbox 1 and Xbox 360. Which means a backwards compatible game for the Xbox 360 can’t be played with
an Xbox 1.

Im a bit confused though because I was able to get a backwards compatible game like this before...I understand what I have to do now though. Is there a way to reverse the purchase that I just made for credit? I added $20 (in the form of two $10)

If the currency was simply applied to your account and you have yet to use it, you can try following the link I provided and see if the item that you are seeking to get refund appears there.

Even if the item does not appear here, you can attempt to use the
Legacy Refund Request webform, and see if this provides favorable results.

I would recommend reviewing the Digital Game Purchase Refund Terms for further info on this as typically
all sales of Digital Products are considered final and most purchases are not eligible for a refund after 14 days.

Thanks for contacting us on the forums. We understand trying to purchase a backward compatible game. Unfortunately, on the Xbox one you will need a credit/debit card or paypal. Account currency is unable to be used to make a purchase for backward compatible
titles, unless you are on an Xbox 360.
