I can't believe how difficult Microsoft makes this...

I know my Xbox Live gamertag, but I forgot the email address associated with it. Since the email address is required for signing in, not the gamertag, I tried looking the email address up. To no avail, I was left with a lesson in infinite runaround and unnecessary
complexity that would put Franz Kafka to shame.

1) Logging in is a pre-requisite to using the troubleshooter, and since my issue deals with logging in, I used a fake account.

2) Come to find out the troubleshooter does jack ****.

3) At the end, the troubleshooter advises to contact support. Prior to initiating conversation, there is a webpage that collects a few basic piece of information, such as name and email address. However, the name field is disabled, preventing me from accessing
any sort of support chat. I tried the latest version of Chrome and the latest version of IE.

Well, that was 15 minutes that would have been better spent punching myself in the ****.

the messaging isn't all the cohesive

i'm sure MS is getting fed up with getting heckled and made fun of

this heckling and made fun of is by it's own fan-base, the competitor and their fan-base and by non gamer's alike

and so makes us believe what you are envisioning the Xbox in the long run, convey that message in what it is and again, make us believe what you are believing!

I have no idea where MS is going with this new direction, they "probably" know, but either they aren't very sure themselves or they can't divulge much now

if they can't divulge now, then that is a big mistake (atleast for the time being), perhaps in the long run the vision MS wants will be more cohesive and people will get it and understand and accept it, but so far it has been a mess (too many unfriendly gamer
restrictions/silly system features)

the question is.......

is this new direction MS's doing or are they "Push-Overs" and being pushed around by a someone else and steering MS in a wrong direction?

I bet this isn't MS's doing, maybe these "others" had the right intentions, but didn't pan out as they wanted and now the Xbox One is what it is, a "Mess"

regarding Used Games....

we buy Used games, that is our thing and shouldn't be messed with

people say "devs and publishers deserve money from used games, where are their rights?!"

^^to that I say "where are the gamer's rights?!

gamers are often subjected by developer's/publisher's scandalous ways with Over-Priced Games, Over-Priced DLC, Locked on Disc DLC, left out DLC and sold later, Free-2-Play, Free-2-Win, Micro-transactions and more and yet want more money from Used Games...how
greedy can one be?

without us, you guys are Nothing, and remember that MS...Nothing!

so don't disrespect your fan-base and treat them like peasants with no rights and can't fend or talk for themselves

as for what you said about the Xbox one "it was built for Gamers and by Gamers"

well guess what, I wasn't asked, my friends weren't asked, many Xbox guys on this forum weren't asked and every Xbox owner worldwide weren't asked

^^so who really built The Xbox One?....could it be it was built by developers & publishers for developers and publishers?

....so don't think for yourselves and what is in your best interest...and remember the old saying "The Customer Is Always Right" and don't forget it!

I can almost deal with the TV/Media stuff, but all those restrictions are pro dev/pub

they are treating us with such disrespect that it's no wonder people are turning their backs on MS's Xbox brand

most likely with Next-Next-Gen (Xbox 4 and PS5), games would be all digital, and so for this upcoming gen atleast MS could say screw it and make a console Pro-Gamer and not make it seem like we are the bad guys

 

I just want to play Doom. The old style. The one I used to play on Windows 95, written in Borland C, compiled for 16-bit processors, which hardly **** runs on my 64-bit machine without the use of a VM. So I bought it on Xbox Live because oddly enough it
runs on my Xbox 360, but not my ordinary laptop.

If I have to use a VM to run Windows 95, where can I download it and get an installation key?
