I can't alter my gamer pic in any way.

I go to customize profile, and then Switch to gamerpic, but when I do that all that comes up is a blank grey screen with "Chose your gamerpic" in the top left corner. It's really frustrating.

New profile page just *** my gamer pic

On the NXOE, I clicked in the new profile page to show my avatar. I did not change my gamer pic, nor did I click to change my gamer pic, nor was there any warning to say my gamer pic was being changed. I just said it could show my avatar on my profile
page. NOW, my old xbox 360 gamer pic is no longer showing up, and when I click not to show my avatar in my profile it makes me pic a new gamer pic from the crappy xbox one ones. I am LIVID. I had a pretty rare Noble Team gamer pic that few people use (I've
never seen on anyone else) and now my frigging gamer pic on my xbox one is my avatar's face. I DIDN"T CHANGE MY GAMERPIC FOR A REASON. There's no warning, no comment about "This will change your gamer pic" or "This will permanently change your gamer pic,"
it's just a side button that says "show avatar on your profile."

I would like my gamer pic fixed, and put some *** warnings on something that's going to permanently alter your profile and something you've had for YEARS.

 

How do I save my Avatar gamerpic after making a new one?

Like the title says, I'm wondering if there's any way to save my old Avatar gamer pic and use it later AFTER I make a new Avatar gamer pic.

Try (1)removing the profile from the console (2)going offline then go do a (3)hard reset of the console - Hold The power button on the console for 10-12 seconds. (4)Unplug everything connected to the console Power Supply, HDMI cable etc. once everything
is unplugged (5)wait approximate of 5 minutes then plug everything back in start up the system add back the profile and then try.

 

I am experiencing the exact issue as well on a brand new Xbox One Elite console. Literally just setup everything today on 04/16/2016; console updated, connected to network, created new Xbox Live account w/ 12-month gold subscription, text book setup...etc.
Went to change the preset-factory gamerpic and all I get is that blank grey screen that never loads any other gamerpics to choose from; also, sometimes I will get a pop-up message saying "That didn't work - Sorry, give it another try"...then nothing.

However, I am able to change my gamerpic using my desktop via Windows 10 Xbox App...and the change reflects once I restart the console. Definitely seems to be some sort of an Xbox Live service error/issue.

[I did try PurpleNurpe's suggested method to Defender732, and none of those worked...still the same issue].

 

Then this seems like a problem in the latest OS update. Try being patient until the next update is released i'll send feedback to the preview program team so they are aware.

Sorry you're having problems not being able to change your profile pictures.If Purple's suggestions do not work, I would suggest removing your profile and then adding it back to your console.

To remove your profile:

1. Go to Settings > All settings > Account > Remove accounts.
   
2. Choose the profile you want to remove and then press A.
3. Select Remove.

After you do that, then press your home button on your controller twice to bring up the menu, and add your account back to the console.

Not to be redundant here [just an update for anyone else], but as of 04-19-2016 I am still unable to change my gamerpic via the Xbox One console itself...blank grey screen w/ choose your gamerpic in the upper left window and no gamerpics ever load...and
none of the above "suggested answers" work at all. [however, changing the gamerpic via the Xbox One App - Windows 10 and Xbox.com still does work once the console is restarted and logged back in; the change takes effect].

I have come across a few people online in the past 2 days mentioning they couldn't change their gamerpic either, but can anyone covering this thread actually try to change their gamerpic on their console and let us know? Thanks for your help & time in advance.

[*not sure if this might be a region issue with Xbox Live, but for reference - United States/Eastern Standard Time].
