I cannot update the email used by my XBOX profile

I want to change the email associted with my XBOX account but instead was prompted for a code so I waited got one and entered it. Now when I try to acccess my account I get this. Th instructions listed here dont work

There is no section labelled Manage how you sign in to Microsoft. Instead there is a section that says Manage Your Sing In Email or Phone Number and that is where I was asked for the code.

Manage Payment Options: No Email Code

Hi!

When i go to manage payment options, the service says its sent a code to my email. Strangely, this is a different email address to the email I used to log in and my alternate email. No code is received by any of my emails in any of my folders inc. Spam,
Junk and Inbox. When i go to update my email (to change it) from Xbox Live, it says I cannot use a hotmail email and it says I cannot use my alternate email. Why?

got gamertag but cannot remember email to log in to Account profile

hi my son has a gamertag and we get emails at my yahoo account from xbox related to his gamertag but we cannot get onto his gamer account because xbox keeps asking for security info, requesting his email and password. It registers that we set his email up
as my yahoo email address and I cannot remember the password for that address on the xbox if indeed we did orginaly set it up that way. How do we get microsoft to email us back at that yahoo address (we get regular xbox updates sent to my yahoo address) with
a way to access his account and reset the email address and password to something that will work. He has used his gamertag profile since October last year with no problems until last week when this security verification thing came up and he cannot sign in
so we cannot update anything. Please help! Even if its to talk to someone at microsoft to send us an email like they regularly do so we can get his profile back. Thanks.

 

I finally received a code but now it doesnt accept it. I got a 7 digit cancellation code to back out of the security hiccup and I just get the little please wait dots and no message.

 

OK so if you have access to the security proof (where they want to send the verification code to) then go to account.live.com/addassocid and that should allow you to either add a new email (outlook.com) or an existing email that you have that is not associated
with Microsoft.
