the only option that could work is changing the primary email address for that Microsoft Account, (which now is based on the work/school account) but you still need to be able to login in to the Microsoft Account (Xbox Live Account)

Hi my son signed up with my old yahoo email there is no microsoft email hence why i cannot sign into his account. Cannot log into his account as it isnt a microsoft account. Very confused as to how it has been set up in the first place

Hey Courtney, thanks for helping but I have an additional question.

I've linked my account to my own email and I'm able to log in with my own account now. But when I sign in, it gives me the welcome back tab, my school email is shown under my username despite logging in using my own email. Is my school email still linked or is it nothing to worry about since it's the original email I used.

Unfortunately you cannot transfer a Gamertag to another account. What you can do though is change the email on the account by using another email as an alias.

You can change and update the email address. If an email has been used on an account you cannot transfer to it.
