I cannot play modern warfare 2

When I boot up the game I am taken to a menu where when I click play game a promt says loading assets for two frames and then disappears. Nothing happens after and lf i I click the same play game square it happens again. I can't leave this menu except for backing out to the title screen. If I click go offline I am given the option to play a new campaign or lan multiplayer. When I click single player It says I am missing a single player dlc pack and when I click local multiplayer it says installing. There is nothing left to install. You can't open the game without fully installing everything. There is however an Xbox prompt that comes up randomly that says modern warfare 2 requests a 9.2 GB update. I click allow and nothing happens. It disappears and doesn't appear in my updating tab. I have restarted and reinstalled everything to no avail.

I agree with this too. Everybody camps on MW3 and it's very annoying. I play modern warfare 2 and black ops way more than modern warfare 3.

I am a fan of modern war games, i have Only played Modern warfare and Modern warfare 2, and have not bothered since. The new trailer looks amazing and the fact its set in todays climate im looking forward to playing it.

Additional information is needed, please answer the following questions to assist you properly:

What xbox console do you have?

Do you have a digital or physical copy of MWII?

Is this happening only with this game or if you try a different one something similar happens?

When you say "I have restarted" do you mean power cycle to console? Or restart via settings?

If its the second, try power cycling the console:

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.

Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.

3. Plug the console power cable back in.

4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

And besides restarting and reinstalling, did you tried something else?

The new update rolled out for Modern Warfare, and I, like many others cannot play the multiplayer due to a missing pack. I get the error "Missing DLC_MP2 error. When I look at my friends his add-ons show a Multiplayer pack 1 and pack 2. When I go to the
xbox store I cannot find pack 2 only pack 1.

Help

Also facing the same issue. Still can't find Multiplayer pack 2 in store or ready to install section of Modern Warfare.

Can someone help, I want to play local multiplayer in split screen?
