i cannot install sea of thieves becuse it says that i need xbox pass but i have purcased it

This only works sometimes remove your profile then reset xbox (hold power button down) Then re add it to see if that makes any difference

He said that he purchased it, not that it was a trial, so I went off that.

Have you tried to install from the Ready to Install? if that doesn't work try to install it from the Xbox Windows 10 app, Xbox mobile app or install from xbox.com it should say you already own it and you can just hit install.

You don't need to buy Game pass if you already own the game! The same thing happened to me with RDR2, this is what I went through:

1. Try restarting your Xbox, it might fix the issue of showing it as a "Game Pass" item instead of your purchase.
2. If that doesn't work, go to your Games and Apps > Full Library > All Owned Games. There, Sea of Thieves should show up and you should have the option to install it by selecting the game.

Try performing the hard reset exactly like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
