I cannot hear my friends on discord voice chat and neither can they hear me

Please be guided with the following troubleshooting steps:

Power cycle your console by fully powering down your Xbox One. Hold the power button for about 10 seconds until it shuts off completely, unplug it for at least one minute to clear any temporary cache or glitches, and then power it back up.

And then unlink and re-link your discord account. Do this on your Xbox, go to Settings > Account > Linked Social Accounts and manually unlink Discord.

Then, using the Discord app navigate to User Settings > Connections, and remove the linked Xbox account there as well.

Once both sides are cleared, re-link your Xbox account by following the prompts on the Discord app.

Next is to check for updates and reinstall the app because an outdated software can cause unexpected issues. For Xbox system updates, go to Settings > System > Updates.

For discord app updates, confirm that the Discord app is updated to its latest version.

If updates don’t help, please uninstall and then reinstall the Discord app on your console because this helps if any corrupted data or cache is causing the problem.

Then review network and audio configurations becaise network issues or misconfigurations in audio settings can interfere with voice chat.

For your network, kindly switch your network connection to see if the issue is network-related. Unplugging your router for three to five minutes will refresh your connection.

And for audio settings. Please double-check your Xbox audio settings to make sure that the correct input/output devices are selected.

Question, I can hear the game audio, but I cant change the chat volume, yet I can still hear my friends in party's and game chat. The only way I can change how loud there voice is to change the game volume on my X12. I tried going to preferences and voice,
but when I switch to play through headset, I don't hear my friends. Is there anyway I can change my friends voice volume? Because chat volume doesn't work on game chat and party chat.
