I cannot get gold live on my console even though my son gas it on his, his being the home xbox

Hello again, I've tried the hard reset after waiting nearly 24 hours and still no live gold, my son invited me to play a game with him and I launched it only to have the join gold live screen appear. It must be something simple I'm not doing (simple being
the operative word, like the chap typing this!)

My profile is on his xbox as his is on mine but perhaps that's the trouble, maybe I should remove him from my xbox??. Clueless, even he has done his best but he is only 10. If you have any patience left to help me a bit more I would appreciate it.

Gold family sharing not working

I have a gold subscription. Console is set as my home console.

my son has an account on the Xbox, also set as his home console.

he is registered as my son on ms family safety website. He previously had a gold subscription of his own on his old xb360 , which worked fine (so i know that family safety settings are all fine for allowing him to play online through gold)

he cannot play any online games on the xbOne, just gets an error that he needs a gold subscription. I can play fine on my account.

any ideas?

 

How do I play my Battlefield 1 game on 2 Xboxes

Battlefield 1 is on my sons account at my home on his xbox, I have an account also on this xbox. We both have xbox live gold. When my son is at his mums, we cannot play Battlefield 1 together as when I go on it states the owner of the game has to sign in
which if I do signs my son out at his mums. How do we get around this? Do the settings need changing?

 

Are you sharing gold from his account or do you both have a gold subscription?

If I got it right, you are using two different consoles to play the same game and that is the issue.

If your son is connected to his own console, the gold sharing is done on that console meaning that other users on that same console can benefit from gold features, but only on that console.

You can use your son gold Subscription on your own console only when your son account is connected to your console sharing gold, which is not possible in this case since he is already connected to his own one.

So with 2 consoles you need 2 separate gold subscriptions.

 

Well not the same game I just wanted to get gold live on my console, I was under the impression you could use the same gold account over two different consoles in the same household. If not that means paying two subscription fees for the gold live which
is a rip-off. My son's friend has his own console as does his brother and their Mum, are you telling me she pays 3 lots of fees every month!

 

Since the gold is on his account, he would need to set your console as his Home in order for you to share it.
