I cannot add an account on my brand new Xbox 1!!!!! What do I do?

so the console is brand new. The only option i have is to press add a new one and then the grey screen appears for 1 second. I created a new Xbox-Account with my computer.

I having the mic with a slash through it icon problem as well. What should u do to fix this problem. The xbox 1 is brand new along with a brand new xbox headset

This is happening to me too, on a brand new account at that. On that gold account, I have only 1 friend but can't add new ones.

Hello district Swagg: I believe every New xbox comes with 1 or 2 Free months of xbox live gold. To do this simply make an account and when it asks you to go gold or stay silver. Choose Stay silver and it should offer you a month of gold for free. If you
bought a used xbox I cannot say that it will be offered, I also do not know about the Brand new Xbox Slims if they offer it or not. Hope this help!

Ok. How far do you get in the process when adding to the Xbox ?

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & System > Add or switch > Add new.
3. Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.
   Important Make sure that you do not select Get a new account, unless that’s what you want to do. If you select this, you will create a brand-new Microsoft account.
   
4. Enter the password for your Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.
5. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.
6. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences to add your Microsoft account to your Xbox One console.
