    I cannot access my console through windows console companion app


    I'm attempting to set up a streaming hobby, and without a capture card, I am required to use the console companion app to access my gameplay footage. I am in a dorm room, and I have set my devices to the same internet service. My phone has no problem finding
    my console, should I want to use remote play, but my Laptop cannot. I have put in the IP address for my console, reset both devices, and still no luck. I am unsure of what I should do next. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to answer that.

    Unfortunately you cannot plug in the Xbox One into your laptop and use the laptop as a display. Also there is no app or program that would convert the HDMI port on your laptop to an input source rather than an output source.

    Your only option would be to use the game streaming through the Xbox Console Companion app. I would re over these two support articles on how to improve streaming:
