I can play online without Gold

I posted a thread about this on Reddit, but no one seem to able to help me understand why.

Maybe some of you guys here can. I can play online without Gold • r/xboxone

No, you can not play online without gold or a gold trial.

 

Then please help me find out what is going on. Because I don't have Gold, and I can play online.

 

What game are you playing online?

Edit: are you on an xbox one, with another gold account on that console?

If you were to try on a 360 you wouldn't be able to play online.

 

THEOWENKILLER: GTA V and Battlefield 4 mostly. Yes, Xbox One. A friend has an account on my Xbox since he borrowed it once. He had Gold from a code I bought on Ebay, and that has expired.

So there's two accounts on my Xbox One, and neither has Gold. No auto-renewal.

 

I'd get your friend to check that as auto renew may not of been turned off & they would still be getting billed.

 

Daft Badger: He got that code from me, he also never bought Gold for himself. So I suppose it would impossible for him to have auto-renew on.

I've also checked his profile, he doesn't have Gold either.

Im really curious to find out what has happened.

 

Was the console bought new or second hand?

If the latter it is possible that the person who sold it has a Gold account and hasn't made a new console their 'Home'.

 

Anyone else that knows how this is possible?

 

I think the best thing you could do is contact support as they will probably be able to figure it out. For all we know, it could be some error giving you free Xbox live or something. How long have you had this? Maybe they gave you a free month and you didn't
know.

 

Well, if there's some bug/error giving me free live I'm not gonna call support

It's been going on for almost 3 weeks now.

I suppose if they gave me a free month I could still get the GwG for free, but they cost money. But yeah, it could be something like that. If it's the same next month something is definitely up.

It would be best to contact support or otherwise you could find yourself with a suspended account until you pay off the balance of the service you've been receiving.
