I can only play the games i payed for if i make my second personal xbox my home xbox!

if you have 4 xbox one's you basically still get 2 for 1. You make 1 xbox your home gold let the slivers play on it. You play on the second xbox. Make the 3rd xbox your second home account and let the silver play onthat while the second gold plays on
4th xbox. So you'd be paying 120/yr instead of 99/yr. Still sucks but not too bad. you can shop around and find cheaper 12 month cards. I'm in the same boat as you but I can't upgrade all my Xbox's yet only gonna have 1 so I have to pay for 3 golds oh

If i have i two accounts on one xbox can they use the same xbox live or do I have to pay fo xbox live for both accounts

Yes, you can do this ONLY if the accounts are on the same Xbox. Do this,

• Press the Xbox button to open the guide
• Select System, then select Settings
• Select Personalization and then select My home Xbox
• Make sure to review the information and then choose Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox. From this step, you can also remove designation by selecting This is not my home Xbox

Even stranger, I just realized this...

My account > Settings > Personalization > My home Xbox > Make this my Xbox UNCHECKED

Kids account > Settings > Personalization > My home Xbox > Make this my Xbox CHECKED

My account > can play all games

Kids account > can't play games and gets the "The person who bought this needs to sign in" error

Do I need to switch it to My Account? If I do so it simply says I'll have 4 switches left.

Surely I can't be the only one in this scenario, and have more than one Xbox in the family home. . .this really feels like it defeats the purpose of investing into more than one xbox device in your home, when you can't play together on the same game.

I certainly have no plans to be paying for another game pass subscription just so I can occasionally play with my children on the second console.
