Is this happening on Xbox or PC?
If it's on Xbox, what console do you have?
If it's on PC, are you using windows 10 or 11?
Is this happening no matter if you connect the controller wired or wirelessly?

And what did you tried so far to fix this problem

I've been playing with both since I can remember. I find the controller easier to use for certain things. However, playing a FPS on the PC, I need to use mouse and keyboard. It's just so much smoother and you are able to move a lot more precisely especially
with a good gaming mouse.

This happens after normal use of the controller.

My thoughts are that you have played a game that uses the thumb stick click as a button like FPS where this is the run button.

When using this click over time, the controller drift occurs.

Some have opted to have the controller replaced.

Other has opted to buy another controller and not use the new one for certain games.
