I can not Transfer my Gamertag to a new Microsoft account.

I keep getting prompted to check my email and make sure i can still receive messages there. I no longer can due to list email being deleted. When I try to change my account to a new Microsoft account, i get error code 8016FE6D. This code does not show up
in the error code look up. While i try to access my info on Xbox live through a web browser, and i try to change my settings, i am told i will receive an email at the email which i don't have anymore. How can I fix this? Is it fixable?

I'm looking at switching my gamertag to another MS account, but I note that here it says:

• When you change to a new Microsoft account, the current funds in your original Microsoft account do not transfer to your new Microsoft account.
  

So what happens to the funds in my original account? Can I get them back or transfer them?

 

A couple things to try here, Could you try to change your you GT to another Microsoft account, if you have to just go to hotmaill.com and create a new account and then try to change your GT to that new email address? this will tell us if the issue is the
email address you are currently trying to change to or not.

Something else you should check is make sure their is no billing issue's with your account, just go to

commerce.microsoft.com/PaymentHub and login and make sure you don't have any outstanding balances and that all your billing info is correct.

 

I already made a new account and tried to link my current live account to my new microsoft account. Thats when I get that error code i mentioned above. As far as billing, theres no issues. I buy prepaid cards exclusively. And when I try to access my billing
information, i have to verify that email, but its no longer active. I can tell im just boned here. Thanks anyways for the tips.

 

oh yeah and like an idiot, i also never verified that email with my live account, and i've been using it for like 8 years or so. Probably nothing i can do, huh?

A few things you need to know about the transfer:

1. There should be no recent changes to the Gamertag and account that you need to transfer within the last 30 days. Changes include password resets, security proofs, migration, etc

2. There should be no remaining Microsoft points or local currency on the account / Gamertag that needs to be transferred

3. The account / Gamertag to be transferred needs to be downloaded and stored on a 360 console for 30 straight days. (you don't need to be signed in on that account, just let it sit on the console for 30 days). Also, you can only do the transferring on this
specific console.

4. There should be no Gamertag on the email that you're going to transfer onto.
