    I can not play the ¨free games¨with gold


    Dear all,

    Please note that I am a gold member, I tried many times to play the ¨free games¨with gold but, I have the error 80150017, It suppose that I can play the games with gold but not by my geographic zone... I think that close de door to clients in other countries
    is a several mistake. I am from Costa Rica and I want to play the video games like people in USA, I do not understand why block the content I'm paying for a service they can not use.

    We really appreciate your prompt response.

    game problems

    Forza 6 was part of a free play weekend, not a Games with Gold game. With free play weekends you can only play the games for free for those days and the games are listed with "Free Play Days" on them.

    Xbox Live Trial Codes

    You can play online with all gold trial cards, you can not download free games for gold with most trial cards.

    In order to claim the game your region should be set in the same place where your console is physically located or the difference among regions will cause the issue you are experiencing.

    Hi NOOBSKILLER94!

    Make sure that the region for your Xbox 360 console is set to match where you're currently located. You can check this over at account.microsoft.com

    If you do see any discrepancies with your region, there is a troubleshooting guide on how to change your region. However, it will not transfer money
    between regions. Be sure to spend the money in your Microsoft account before you change your account location.

    Do I need Live Gold to play online? Or does Live Free work?

    You need Gold to play online in games that are paid for, but free-to-play games like Fortnite can be played without Gold. Minecraft would need Gold since it's not a free-to-play game.

    Free-to-play games will be playable without Gold, but Gold will still be required for non-free games. So Fortnite you can play without Gold. Call of Duty would need Gold.

    Free games with Game Pass

    Free with Game Pass means you can play them without purchasing the games while you have a Game Pass subscription. Once you lose the subscription, you will no longer have access to those games.

    Free with Gold are Games with Gold games. You can redeem the for free, but you need a Gold subscription to continue playing them for free.

    Some of the Games recieved from "Games for Gold" no longer allow me to play them.

    360 Games with Gold games can be played without an active Gold subscription. Xbox One games required a Gold subscription to continue playing them for free.

    Currently, you still need Gold to play all games online. They are working to remove the requirement from free to play games, but you do need Gold to play Apex at this time.
