    Gamertag change

    Yes. If you change the name on the old account it'll free up the gamertag for use so you can change it to that.

    If you mean you can't change it for free then that would be correct. The free change is only available if you were given a randomly generated tag when you created your account and are changing it for the first time. Since you have a tag of your own choosing,
    you will have to pay if you want to change it.

    The one you're using is not one of the random ones they give out. You should have entered this one in at some point. If you want to change it, you will have to pay.
