Only games that are backwards compatible will play on a 360 with a hard drive. All versions of the 360 either came with an official hard drive or you could buy one separately.

You can find a list of backwards compatible games here That game is not backwards compatible.

How to know if a specific game on XBOX is backward compatible with the XBOX 360?

I checked the official list of backward compatible games for Microsoft, and the game does not appear. I think it is a non-exhaustive list of all the backwards compatible games, and not the entire list. How can I be sure that I will buy the game is playable
on Xbox 360?

If you're on a child account, you will have to make the purchase from a 360 console. Otherwise, make sure you have a credit card or Paypal on file to make the purchase.

I'm sorry to hear that is happening. Would you mind clarifying the payment instrument you're using is it a Credit Card or Microsoft account credit.(Xbox gift card) Reason for my question is due to
the fact that the money in your Microsoft account can't be used to purchase content from the Xbox 360 Marketplace. Also, verify that the payment information is all up to date on Sign in to your Microsoft account

To resolve this issue, purchase the item on your Xbox 360 console, where you can use your Microsoft account balance to make purchases.

I would suggest to
Troubleshoot Xbox 360 Market place purchasing.

It's not gears 3, (for as far as i know gears 3 is not backwards compatible)

I can't download any backwards compatible game.

Is there another way then to log in on a xbox 360 console? like if i buy a physical disc of a backwards compatible game, would it work then? and would i be able to download 360 games after that.

Hi Emerson,

Original Xbox games were backwards compatible on Xbox 360's for quite awhile when the Xbox 360 was in it's prime by simply putting in the disc but I don't think backwards compatibility on the Xbox 360 works as well as it used to since backwards compatibility
has moved on to the Xbox One. The Xbox One can play Xbox original games by simply putting in the disc or you can buy digital licenses.

You can try inserting a disc into your Xbox 360 and see if it works but it may not be supported anymore.

If you are talking about backwards compatibility then no those games are not on the list of backward compatible games. The xbox 360 discs that work on xbox one can be found here:

If you mean will you get the xbox one version of those games for free then no, you have to buy the xbox one version of the game.
