I can hear on my Mic just not talk

so I see this being a wide spread problem. Had anybody been able to troubleshoot this. I was talking to xbox support last night and couldn't resolve this is. Any help or information would be great. Just bought this system and really hoping it's not the console
and just the Mic or controller.

    :)

I can hear but not talk on mic

Alot of ppl are having this problem and i think i may have found a FIX for alot of ppl. Micrsoft support couldnt fix this for me either i tried going that route.

    Here is the fix

u have to make a party the go to the party menu.

unplug your mic and wait till it says go to advice setting

    click this.

    plug mic back in.

    Go to device info.

    then volume.

Then turn your mic back on.

Let me know if this helped you out. I want as many ppl seeing this a possible. It sucks not working.

windows 10 adapter with xbox one controller and mic, can't use mic to talk to people.

As the title says, for some reason my mic does not work whenever I try to talk to others. I can hear audio just fine but I can't talk to others, I am 100% sure my mic is not muted. Does anyone know a fix or solution to my issue?

When I purchased our Xbox One S a few months ago, I purchased a lower end Turtle Beach headset with it. That headset never worked, and within the first 48 hours the detachable microphone was dropping to the ground just from its own weight and with the help
of gravity. Cheap. So I purchased a rather nice headset that was advertised as being a good choice for Xbox One gaming. Not. The inline controls were only compatible with a PC via USB (but not Xbox). I worked around it for awhile with in game audio controls.
But after one of the recent Xbox One software updates ... the microphone no longer transmitted to fellow group members. So I purchased an XBOX ONE Stereo Headphone with an adapter for my controller. Guess what. I can hear everyone ... and they can't hear me.
I used all of the fix-it-yourself diagnostics and corrections that Xbox One troubleshooting offered. Nothing.

So I used a little work around and used the headset to connect to Skype. Guess what. The microphone and ear speakers both worked wonderfully! I recorded some nice little messages and the quality of my voice recordings were very good. There is no reason. Make
that ... NO REASON why Xbox cannot address this issue with a good resolution via firmware/software patch or updates.

As best as I can figure, this is an issue with WAN/LAN security sets that are somehow preventing IP identification and swapping. But Xbox does not really address this very well in their fix-it-yourself recommendations. In my case, I am using a Wave Broadband
wireless Gateway provided by my Cable/Internet provider. It is not easy for me to access and fool with settings, and they refuse to try to address it.

XBOX ONE FOLKS ... you are making enough money off of sales to address many problems that Playstation does not have. The fact that an XBOX One headset does not work with an Xbox One should concern you. And asking us to work it out and fix it ourselves is not
    great customer support.

    Xbox One S 3.5mm controller - mic doesn't work

Xbox firmware I'm assuming, I'm just not sure why some people's mics work and some don't.

If I'm in a party with someone who can still talk, I can hear them over my headset(s), but they can't hear me talk, and the xbox doesn't pic up any sound from the mic.
