I bought wrong Minecraft for XBox

Hello, i have a question.

I bought for my son Minecraft Xbox one edition, but this edition is no longer updating and son is very disappointed with that and me too. I cant know that Minecraft has a different version for Xbox - one is old and no updating and Bedrock is the newest and still updating....

Is there any way to get a redeem code for updating to bedrock like it was in 2019 for my son?

I'm sorry but the free update from Minecraft Xbox One Edition to Minecraft Bedrock Edition is no longer available. If you would like to upgrade this time, you will be needing to re-purchase the bedrock edition.

You may need to request a refund from the store where you have purchased the wrong version in that way you can purchase the correct game version.

Go to http://account.microsoft.com and look for the purchase there. It should list the code and you can just give your friend the code.

You would need to try contacting support to see if they can refund the purchase so your son can purchase the correct game.

I'm not sure what he would have bought that was wrong though. There is Minecraft, which is the full game, and then Minecraft Story Mode, which is just a story you follow.
